§ 18-51. Intent; effective date.

  • In order to perpetuate and preserve the historic features of the City of Bristol, and to promote the educational, cultural, economic, and general welfare of the public through the preservation and protection of the distinctive characteristics of buildings and places associated with the history of, or indicative of a period or style of architecture of Bristol, Connecticut, there is hereby established the local historic district(s) named as provided hereafter in section 18-52, and a commission to be known as the Bristol Historic District Commission; (hereinafter sometimes referred to as the "commission") effective March 15, 2007, as provided hereafter in section 18-53.
