§ 58. Zoning commission.

  • (a)

    The zoning commission of the city of Bristol shall consist of five resident electors of the city, not more than three of whom shall be members of the same political party, who shall be nominated by the mayor and appointed by the city council.

    (b)

    Said zoning commission shall have all the powers and duties granted to zoning commissions under the general statutes.

    (c)

    Appointments shall be made for terms of three years except that any vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired period of the term. The members of the commission shall elect their own chairperson and secretary.

    (d)

    All existing zoning ordinances of the city of Bristol shall, until changed by the zoning commission, remain in full force and effect.

    (e)

    The members of said commission on the effective date of this charter shall continue to hold office for their respective terms and until their successors are appointed and duly qualified.
