§ 2-139. Appointment of additional, temporary members, board of assessment appeals.

The mayor may nominate and the council may appoint up to three (3) additional, temporary members to the board of assessment appeals who shall serve for a two-year term beginning on the first day of any assessment year in which a revaluation becomes effective and ending on the last day of the assessment year following such year of revaluation. Except for service as chair of the board, said additional, temporary appointed members shall exercise the same powers as those members duly elected pursuant to the Charter of the City of Bristol. Said appointment(s) shall take into consideration the party affiliation of all members of the board, both elected and to be appointed, so that there shall be no more than three (3) members of the board who are members of the same political party.
