§ 20-5. Design, construction and operation features.

  • Reasonable regulations shall be recommended by the health director to the city council covering design, construction and operation of public swimming pools. The regulations shall cover but not be limited to the following items:

    (1)

    Water supply, sewer and waste connections.

    (2)

    Design detail.

    (3)

    Materials of construction.

    (4)

    Walls, markings and slopes.

    (5)

    Overflow gutters and skimmers.

    (6)

    Inlets and outlets.

    (7)

    Separation, zoning and control of users.

    (8)

    Recirculation equipment, piping, and appurtenances.

    (9)

    Disinfection and chemical feed equipment.

    (10)

    Bathhouse and appurtenances, including plumbing fixtures.

    (11)

    Ladders, stairs, decks, walkways and diving equipment.

    (12)

    Diving, swimming and bathing areas.

    (13)

    Ventilation, lighting and electrical facilities and connections (safety aspects).

    (14)

    Safety and lifesaving equipment.

    (15)

    Water quality, supervision and cleaning.

    (16)

    Operation.
